Kyoto is one of the most beautiful cities to visit this month. Despite the cold evenings, the weather tends to be warm in general. The cherries usually reach their peak during the first week of April.
In Kyoto, you should not miss Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) that typically takes place every year from early to mid-April. You can see the cherries in various locations such as Maruyama-Koen Park, the north end of the Kyoto Gosho (Imperial Palace Park), the banks of the Kamogawa River, Kyoto Botanical Gardens (Kyoto Shokubutsu-en), and Gion’s Shimbashi district in the evening.
